Privacy policy
1. What this is
Framelink Media is a video editing and content team in San Fernando, La Union. This page says what happens to information that passes through us: yours as a visitor, and yours as a client if you send us work to cut.
It is written to the Data Privacy Act of 2012, Republic Act 10173.
2. What we hold
2.1 What you send us
Hiring us means we end up holding:
- your name, and a way to reach you, usually an email address
- your business name, where there is one
- the material for the project: footage, stills, logos, brand files, scripts
- what we need to invoice you and record that you paid
- the messages between us, and the notes you leave on a cut
2.2 What the website records
We count visits ourselves, with no third-party analytics on the site at all. For each page you open, this is written down:
- the date and time, and the page
- the name of the site you arrived from (never the full address), and a campaign tag if the link you followed carried one
- whether the screen is a phone, a tablet or a computer
- the country your device's time zone setting belongs to, the hour and weekday it was there, and the language your browser is set to (two letters, such as "en")
- how long the page was on screen, and how far down it was scrolled
- what you pressed that does something on this site: playing a video, opening a picture, a link to the contact page, the email or WhatsApp link, or a link to another site (its name only)
- whether the contact form was started, sent, or could not be sent. Nothing you type into it is part of this count.
That is the whole list. We do not store your IP address, the name or version of your browser, or where you are beyond the country. The country comes from the time zone your device reports, not from your IP address, and no outside service is asked where you are. Each page gets a random number when it opens, so that pressing play can be counted with the page it happened on. It is never saved on your device and means nothing once you leave the page.
Visits are counted as separate people using a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser, mixed with a secret that is thrown away and replaced every day. Yesterday's codes cannot be matched to today's, so the same person cannot be recognised from one day to the next, and the secret is never stored anywhere. These records are deleted after about thirteen months.
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded at all.
3. What we do with it
There are two reasons we hold anything: to run the project you hired us for, and to meet an obligation the law puts on a business. Everything below is one or the other.
- We edit your footage and send it back to you.
- We answer you, and we tell you when something is ready, or late.
- We invoice you, and we record that the invoice was paid.
- We keep the books a business here is required to keep.
We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of you.
4. Your work in this portfolio
Finished work appears on this site only when one of these is true:
- you have told us in writing that we may show it, or
- you published it yourself and it is already public.
Neither of those applies if a confidentiality agreement covers the project. In that case it stays off the site whatever else has been agreed.
If your project is here and you want it gone, write to the address in section 12 and it comes down. You do not have to give a reason.
4.1 Reviews you send us
If we invite you to leave a review, the form asks for your name, your email address, and optionally your role, your company, a rating, and a photograph.
The email address is never published. It is how we reply if we need to check something with you.
Nothing you write appears on the site automatically. A review is read first, and it is only published if you ticked the box saying we may use it.
A photograph is handled one of two ways, and the difference is worth knowing. If you upload a file, we keep a copy on our own server and no one else is involved. If you paste a link to a picture instead, the site shows it from wherever it already lives, which means whoever hosts it can see that it was loaded. Uploading is the private option.
Ask us at any time and the review, the name, and the photograph come down.
5. Who else sees it
Nobody buys it and nobody rents it. Four things can put your information in front of someone other than us, and this is all four:
- The tools that run the work. Cloud storage holds project files, and a payment provider handles the invoice. Wise and PayPal are the two we use.
- The contact form. Messages sent through the form on our contact page go through Web3Forms, a relay that passes them to our email. Your name, email address and message pass through their service on the way to us. Email us directly at the address in section 12 if you would rather they did not.
- The law. A Philippine court order, or a lawful request from an authority entitled to make one.
- You. Anything you have asked us to share, for as long as you want it shared.
6. How it is kept
Project files sit in private cloud folders that are not listed or linked anywhere, and the accounts that reach them have passwords not used for anything else. Deliveries go to you by link rather than to a public address.
No website can promise that nothing will ever go wrong, and we are not going to be the one that does. What we can say is what we actually run, which is above, and that if something involving your material goes wrong we will tell you rather than hope you do not notice.
7. What you can ask us to do
The Data Privacy Act gives you rights over information about you. In plain terms, you can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything in it that is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Stop using it in a particular way.
- Take back permission you gave earlier, including permission to show your work in this portfolio.
- Hand it over in a form you can take somewhere else.
Write to the address in section 12. You do not need a form or a reason, and we answer in writing.
If you think we have got something wrong and we cannot settle it between us, you can take it to the National Privacy Commission.
8. Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies for visitors, and there is no advertising or third-party tracking on it. That is why you are not asked to accept anything when you arrive: there is nothing to accept.
The contact form keeps what you type in your browser tab until you send it or close the tab, so a reload or a dropped connection does not lose it. It also notes, on your device only, when a message was last sent from it, so the same enquiry cannot be sent again and again by accident. Neither leaves your device except as the message you choose to send.
The only cookie this site ever sets is inside the private admin area, where it keeps the person managing the site signed in. It is never set for a visitor.
8.1 Videos, and what happens when you press play
Nothing loads from a video platform until you press play. Until then a video on this site is a still image and a button, served by us.
What happens on that press depends on where the video is kept:
- Files we host. Most videos here stream from our own server. No other company is involved and nothing is set on your device.
- YouTube. Some are YouTube videos. Pressing play loads a player from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's reduced-tracking domain for embeds. Google receives your IP address and can store information on your device from that point on, under their terms rather than ours.
- Google Drive. Some are held in Google Drive. Pressing play loads a Drive preview, and the same applies.
We choose the click-to-load approach precisely so that browsing this site involves no third party at all, and so that the choice to involve one is yours and is made one video at a time.
8.2 Storage on your device
The contact form remembers, in your own browser only, that you have just sent a message. It is there to stop the form being submitted repeatedly by automated scripts, it never leaves your device, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
9. Links to other sites
This site links out: to our social profiles, to YouTube, and to a payment provider when an invoice is issued. Once you follow one of those you are on somebody else's site, under their policy rather than this one. They are worth reading separately.
10. How long we keep things
Project files and the messages around them stay while the project runs, and for a while after it, because clients come back asking for a re-export or an older version and throwing the material away immediately would make that impossible. Then they are deleted.
Two things last longer, and they last as long as the law requires a business to keep them: the invoice, and the record of payment.
Ask for your material to be deleted sooner and it will be, apart from those records, which we are not permitted to destroy on request.
11. When this changes
Changes get posted here with a new date at the top. If a change is significant and we hold your email address because you are a client, you get an email about it rather than being expected to check this page.

13. About this policy
This describes what Framelink Media actually does with your information, not what a template says a company might do. Where it names a tool, that tool is in use. Where it says something is not collected, it is not collected.
It is written to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 in good faith, and it is not legal advice. If you need a formal assurance for your own compliance work, write to us and we will answer in writing.
If anything here turns out to be wrong, we would rather hear it from you than not. The address is above.
