Long-form video editing

YouTube, podcasts and corporate video, cut so people stay past the intro.

Long-form fails in the middle. The intro is usually fine and the ending is usually fine, and then there are four minutes in the centre where nothing happens and the graph falls off. Most of the work here is structural: reordering so a question is asked before it is answered, cutting the section that repeats the previous one, and finding the point where the video actually starts.

The rest is craft that only shows when it is missing. B-roll that illustrates rather than fills, motion graphics that explain a number rather than decorate it, colour that matches across a shoot lit by whatever was in the room, and audio levelled so a viewer never reaches for the volume.

Channel-level consistency comes with it. Titles, lower thirds, colour and pacing stay the same across uploads, so a returning viewer recognises your video before they read the name on it.

What is not included

Feature-length narrative and broadcast deliverables are outside this. The work here tops out at the length a channel or a corporate piece actually runs.
