Google Ads explainer

Paid ads

This is a vertical piece about advertising on Google, and it opens on the product mark itself against a blue grid. Naming the subject in the first frame is what stops a scroll on a topic somebody is either interested in or not.

Framelink Media built the opening as flat motion rather than a screen recording. A recorded interface is unreadable at phone size and dates the moment the platform changes a button, where a card and a grid stay legible and stay current.

The grid moves slowly behind the card so the frame is alive without anything having to enter or fly. On a vertical piece the movement has to be there before the first word is read, or the video is scrolled past while it is still introducing itself.

Everything is held to the platform's own four colours, which keeps the piece recognisable to the people it is for and stops it looking like a template with a logo dropped in.
