Forget about motivation, adopt discipline

Thumbnails

This is the cover for a video that tells a self-improvement audience to stop looking for motivation. The instruction is the whole hook, because it contradicts almost every other cover in that results page.

Framelink Media split the line in two and gave the second half a yellow box. Forget about motivation is the setup in plain white, adopt discipline is the answer on yellow, and a viewer reading only the yellow still gets the video.

A red line underneath marks it as evidence based and dated, which is the detail that separates this from advice with nothing behind it. It is small on purpose: it reassures the people who look for it and stays out of the way of the people who do not.

Three icons run along the bottom edge, a brain, an hourglass and a bolt, spaced so they read as a rhythm rather than a row of stickers, and the gym behind the subject was pushed out of focus so nothing in it pulls the eye.
