Bridal party walk
This is a vertical cut from a wedding, the bride walking a paved path with her bridesmaids behind her. The composition is the whole piece: one figure in white in front, a line of green behind, and the venue at the end of the path.
Framelink Media held the shot rather than cutting into it. A walk is the one thing at a wedding that already has a beginning and an end, and cutting it shorter costs the anticipation that makes it worth watching.
The frame keeps the trees on both edges, which narrows the picture toward the bride without anything being added to the shot. That is why this is vertical rather than cropped: the trees fall outside a wide frame entirely.
The grade holds the green of the dresses and the white of the gown apart, which is the pairing that decides whether a wedding cut looks considered or looks automatic.
