Straight to camera
This is a vertical piece delivered straight to camera from a covered outdoor seat. There is no second angle, no roll and no graphics, which puts everything on the words and on the cut between the takes of them.
Framelink Media edited it on the joins. When a piece is one person talking, every cut is a risk: a trim in the wrong place leaves a breath missing and the whole thing sounds assembled. So the cuts land where his hands move, which is where a viewer is not listening for the join.
The frame is slightly off centre with the room behind him falling away, which gives a static shot depth without anything being added to the picture.
Outdoor sound was kept rather than replaced, because a voice recorded in a place and a voice laid over a place do not sound the same and an audience can tell without knowing why.
