Fortnite gameplay
This is the cover for a Fortnite gameplay video, and the thing carrying it is the counter in the top right. A kill count of forty-six is the claim, and everything else on the frame exists to keep that number readable.
Framelink Media set the headline in two colours so the game and the content separate at a glance. White for the name, green for the word underneath, which is the split a viewer scanning a row of covers actually uses.
The character is cut out and lit from behind against fire, so the silhouette holds up at small sizes where the detail of a skin does not.
The flames were kept to the outer edges of the frame rather than run across the middle. Fire fills a cover quickly, and a cover that is all texture has nothing left to point at. The middle of the frame was kept clear so the counter and the character never sit on the same busy patch.
