Player 17: James Hamilton
This is a roster card for an esports player. A card like this is never made once: the squad is announced together, so the design has to hold a long name and a short one, and a player in a light jersey and a dark one.
Framelink Media built it around a fixed frame. The player stands left against a red target ring, the number sits above the name on the right, and the sponsor mark takes the top corner. Change the cutout and the two lines of type and the next card is done.
The ring is the part that does the work. It separates a dark jersey from a dark background without an outline, and it puts the player at the centre of something rather than in front of a plate.
The name is set larger than the number because it is the part an audience repeats, and the number is there for the people who already follow the roster.
